Development of the Siddur

The Siddur is one of Judaism's greatest literary achievements—a living record of Jewish history, faith, and hope. This course traces the development of the Ashkenazi morning service from its biblical and rabbinic origins through centuries of Jewish history. Along the way, we'll explore how different liturgical traditions emerged, how they continue to evolve, and what our prayers reveal about Jewish life and values.

This course is generously sponsored by Mark S. Cohen and Roberta Weinstein-Cohen in honor of all the brave men and women serving in the Israel Defense Forces.
